The work it is built around

Small-firm compliance work has a shape: a client arrives with last year's audited balance sheet, a folder of bank PDFs and a GSTIN. You need opening balances, a year of entries that reconcile to the bank, the GST and TDS figures each month, and at year end a balance sheet and P&L that you can sign off and file. FlipAccounts is organised around exactly that sequence.

  1. Open the company Name, PAN, CIN, GSTIN, financial year. The Indian chart of accounts is seeded; rename or add heads to match the client's Tally captions.
  2. Post the opening balances The last filed balance sheet goes in as one opening journal. Prior years can be added the same way if you want comparatives.
  3. Book the year from the bank statements Upload each account's statements from the first day of the year. Every line is matched; what you cannot place waits in Suspense with a note for the client.
  4. Close the year Depreciation, deferred tax, write-offs and accruals as journals dated 31 March. Then Reports → Statements gives the pack for the period.

What a CA gets that a shoebox does not

NeedIn FlipAccounts
Proof the books tie to the bankBank reconciliation per account: statement balance, ledger balance, unreconciled lines, statement coverage date
Year-end packP&L, balance sheet, detailed trial balance with opening and closing, general ledger for every account, journal, bank and suspense, notes. Print to PDF or export one Excel workbook
Lender and related-party schedulesLoan accounts per lender, director salary payable per director, party-tagged entries, so the schedule is a ledger view
An audit trail you can stand behindPosted entries are immutable; corrections are reversals or voids with a reason; every change is in a hash-chained log with a one-click verify
Client involvement without client damageRole-based access: owner, accountant, bookkeeper, AP or AR only, view only, and a read-only auditor role for the signing partner
Tax position at a glanceAn estimate for the period under the Income-tax Act with the regular-rate and section 115BAA comparison, plus the statutory calendar
Hand-off to your existing toolsExports to Tally, QuickBooks and Excel
Statement-first means fewer surprises. Because every bank movement is booked and the balance chain is checked line by line, the questions that reach the client are specific: "what was the ₹94,500 to High Life on 17 September?" rather than "the bank does not agree by ₹2.3 lakh".

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost a firm with 30 clients?

Nothing. There is no per-company or per-user charge. Core accounting is free; paid add-ons, when they come, will be optional and will not gate the books.

Can I keep Tally as the filing system?

Yes. Many firms keep the live books here for the bank work and client access, and export to Tally for finalisation and filing.

How do I give the signing partner read-only access?

Team → add their email with the auditor role. They see the journal, ledgers, suspense, bank reconciliation, reports and the audit log, and cannot post or change anything.

Where is the data held?

On servers in a dedicated database per deployment, behind Cloudflare, with encrypted secrets. You can export every company to Excel at any time.
